his Palo Alto Victorian Project received the Chrysalis Award for Remodeling Excellence -- Springs Construction has been selected as a 2008 Regional Chrysalis Award winner for the 'Whole House Remodel Over $500,000' category. The project consisted of the lifting existing 1899 Victorian Cottage from its foundation in place. An additional 1,067 square feet of basement living space was created underneath the cottage. Upstairs, careful remodeling brought the cottage up to code and employed new technologies for lighting, heating and cooling. The comforts of the 21st century were added to the kitchen and baths to meld with refreshed finish work and detailing worthy of this Victorian treasure.
