WHO WE ARE
At Springs Construction, our team is made up of experienced, dedicated home construction and design professionals. From our Redwood City, CA office, we help people from San Jose to San Francisco and throughout the Peninsula turn their dreams into reality. From new home construction to renovations and remodeling projects to home restoration services after fire, flood or other natural disasters, the Springs Construction team has the experience and experience and expertise to design your dream living space.
Jim Adkins, President
Jim Adkins is the next (third) generation home builder at Springs Construction. When he started with the company, the first tool he was given by his grandfather was a broom. After he mastered the broom, he became a journeyman carpenter and learned home building from the ground up.
Now, after thirty years, and building over 400,000 square feet of custom homes in his construction career, his specialty is the modern home that requires each building phase to be exactly perfect so the next element falls into place. This precision crafting shows just as well in the historical home where unpainted wood finishes tell the builder's story. At Springs Construction his role is President. You'll see him on your construction project regularly.
By the way, if he's not on your job site and it's after hours, look for him at a local race car track.
Mel Springs, CFO
Mel is the second generation home builder here at Springs Construction. A true master craftsman, he has an innate design sense to visualize a space, or even the terrain, and know just how going to be built. At Springs Construction, he's the principal builder and is ultimately involved in all aspects of our clients' home-building projects.
He has the ability to see the home's space from the little blue lines and knows exactly how the building's structure goes together, with or without the details on the page. When he says he's done that before, don't be concerned! Instead, be confident that, with four decades of construction experience, comes a great deal of knowledge which Mel blends with today's new construction to build you a house to last for the rest of your life.
When he's not building houses he's fishing. Ask him about the Salmon Project at the Rhomberg Institute.
Elizabeth Springs, Interior Designer
Elizabeth Springs, joined the Springs Construction team as marketing director after two decades of global marketing and communications work with technology companies including Oracle and Compaq.
She introduced the design studio to Springs Construction to assist homeowners with specific interior design needs and wants during the home construction process. Most recently, Elizabeth has added accessible design and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) to her focus of interior design work. An avid traveler Elizabeth has been to more countries than states - favorite cities - depends which country. Certifications held: CID - Certified Interior Designer #6591, CKD - NKBA Certified Kitchen Designer, CBD - NKBA Certified Bath Designer, CGBP - Certified Green Building Professional.
EXPERIENCE. DEDICATION. CRAFT.
For three generations we have continued to learn and improve. It's the dedication we have to our craft of building and remodeling homes.
With the majority of our business coming from referrals, we have earned a reputation for being reliable, on time and within budget.
I have worked with Springs Construction for decades. They have remodeled not only my homes and those of my family members but those of my clients. I have been a real estate broker on the Peninsula for more than 20 years. Springs has done extensive work for my clients including assisting buyers in assessing whether they can remodel a particular house on the market to meet their needs and budget. Mel and his team are not only knowledgeable but do quality work on jobs ranging from building an entire house to a bathroom remodel. They also stand behind their work even many years after the job has been completed.
Elaine W., Menlo Park
We worked with Springs Construction after a fire in our home. The team at Springs was amazing to work with and helped guide us through a major overhaul of our house (roof, floors, walls, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.). They were supportive, knowledgable and professional for the entire job. They helped us brainstorm solutions that would fit into our budget, and offered suggestions based on their experience in the field. Everybody that worked on our house was friendly and hard-working. We could tell that they all were invested in the outcome, and took pride in their work. We wholeheartedly recommend Springs Construction and would be happy to share our experience in further detail.
Jennifer C., Belmont
I have worked with Springs on several projects over the last year and it has been a pleasure. Daniela is always great with her communication and she is always very pleasant and helpful. Jim has always been very helpful and detailed with work scopes to make sure that everything is accounted for and goes smoothly. They are one of my favorite contractors to work with and I am always quick to pass on their number when I am asked for a contractor reference.
